Although this may look delicate, it is actually built like a tank. Note the silver 'pearls' running from nose to the tip of the tail; these are actually made from .999 fine silver wire, balled with a torch into headpins inserted into the body through tiny drilled holes. The body is filled with epoxy clay to hold them in place. American brass with a hand-applied - by me - golden green patina, almost celadon, with hints of russet and a lovely satin sheen like well-oiled hide. Photos do not do this beauty justice!
A vintage faux pearl teardrop with a rhinestone rivoli andSwarovski crystal bead add movement at the tip of the tail.
Genuine cultured freshwater pearls in complementary green and gold shades are inserted into the brass chain, adding interest to the neckline.
This is a good-sized little dragon, with a 4-3/4 inch wingspan; right wingtip to tail measures 4-1/2 inches. The body is about 4 inches from nose to bottom of the tail dangle. The chain is brass with a matching hand-applied heat patina and adjustable to 25 inches long. Signed and dated on the underside of it's left wing.
Hand crafted, by me, in my home studio in Tacoma, WA.
